My larynx, vocal folds open and breathing!

Your larynx (leriNGks) or “voice box” is housed in your neck and is connected to the top of your trachea (windpipe). The adam’s apple is the projection at the front of your larynx and is more prominent in men due to larger, and more forward placed structures. The vocal folds (vocal cords) are two folds of tissue (open for breathing in the above image) that come together and vibrate to produce voice. They should be pearly white in color, straight along the edges, and vibrate in sync when you are speaking or singing.
